Hi everyone!

We are now on our 3rd and last (maybe haha) chapter of our series "font conceptualization/art direction"

This time, we will be focusing on the "themed series typefaces and the homage or revival of typefaces"

As you all know, I do love making themed typefaces/fonts. Here are some of the series that I made.

- Typefaces inspired by the top 4 Filipino books: Berbanya, Matalihim, Obra Letra, Illustra
- Homage to our parents: Mamshie Taba and Dadie
- Historic Filipino men and woman homage(most recent): Mayari and Sandigan
As for homage: I'm currently working on a new typeface called "Pintanda" which is an homage or revival of the typefaces found in the title cover of old Filipino magazines.

Let me guys show you my photo reference for Pintada. hehe

"Boni and Klayd" is a comedy parody of the 1967 film "Bonnie and Clyde"

and for comparison, here is my rendition:

It's not a 1 by 1 copy but the shapes, especially the curves are inspired from the letter shapes of the logotype. you can actually see the direct reference from the letters "M and N". My main idea for this typeface is to retain the quirky nature of the logotype of this font.

(The letterforms of pintada are not yet final hehe)

Together with the main reference "Boni and Klayd", I also got my own references, specifically Funky Art Nouveau types for me to really lock in that vibe that Im looking for.

The main idea of the letterforms in this case are the curly terminals that are wavelike. These wavelike terminals really lock in or help this font to empower that quirky nature it's aiming for.

Somehow, these curly terminals also remind me of "Christmassy vibes" which I think is perfect for the upcoming season. hehe
