Sulat Kahel- Rigid Blackletter Typeface

"Sulat Kahel" is a black letter typeface that is inspired by various black letter influence ranging from fraktur, Schwabacher and Rotunda. It is an amalgamation of these 3 styles.

Sulat Kahel means "Brown writing" in Filipino. Sulat= Writing, Kahel = Brown. The name comes from the inspiration and idea of the "Philippine blackletter style" that commonly use the black letter styling in its typography. This typeface is supposed to be an "Obra Letra 2.0" but after adding a bunch of flavors, to it, I decided to make this as a new font.

This font is ideal for headlines, book covers, posters albums, and such to maximize the "style" of the letters fully. With proper caution, you may be able to use it in body type as well.
